Meet the Latest Dunedin Senior Hall of Fame Inductees

Three new portraits hang in the Dunedin Senior Hall of Fame.

A luncheon ceremony welcomed three 2013 inductees at Hale Senior Activity Center on May 15. This year's banquet, set to an "Unleash the Power of Age" theme, traditionally honors one couple and one individual 75 years or older, who've lived in Dunedin for 10 years or longer and demonstrate the art of aging while volunteering their time in the community.

This year's inductees are:

Dave and Nell Thomas: The couple moved to Dunedin in 1977 and have been active in their church, the Masonic Lodge, the Dunedin Rotary Club and the Dunedin Historical Society, to name a few. The couple live by a motto to "brighten the corner" where they are, and for them, Dunedin is their corner.

Theresa Cordova O'dea: O'dea moved to Dunedin in 1980 and taught children in first through sixth grades for 20 years, before returning to academia to work on her masters in counseling. She substituted in Ozona and Our Lady of Lourdes School. She is also active in the Dunedin Youth Guild, Dunedin Council of Organizations and at Our Lady of Lourdes Church. O'dea also keeps the distinct honor of being "Head Ding-A-Ling" in the Dunedin Rotary Club for her commitment to their annual volunteer efforts ringing bells for the Salvation Army.
