Verizon IndyCar officials let organizers know the unfortunate news in an email this week.
It could not follow through on plans to bring the vehicle to the bi-annual Dunedin Classic Car and Truck Show on March 2.
"Our team had a set back due to mechanical issues and will not be able to arrive in market until after 3/2," James Serazio of Marketing Werks wrote in a Feb. 28 email to organizer Bill Coleman.

Dunedin's bi-annual classic car and truck show on downtown Broadway is held in conjunction with the Dunedin antique fair, which is on Main Street. Admission for spectators is free. Oldies music will accompany the show.
The show is Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
