- Scavenger hunt. Native plants are all around you, even in your own backyard and Largo Parks! Check out fnps.org for a comprehensive list of plants in Pinellas.
- Read an eBook. Now’s a good time to share with your kids how the Everglades formed or learn the history of the native people of Florida. Largopubliclibrary.org has many resources available!
- Eat a plant-based meal by candlelight. Change it up and save on electricity. Candlelight is calming and transforms your home into a different space. Reduce CO2 and water consumption by trying something new and eating a healthy plant-based diet.
- Review your recycling habits. Staying at home has likely increased your amounts of trash and recycling. Largo.com/Recycle has a list of what you can and can't in our area. Remember: Reduce, Reuse, then Recycle!
- Camp in the backyard. A family fun adventure is just steps away! And the memories will last a lifetime. If outdoor space isn't available, watch the City of Largo's Getting to Know Largo Parks series on Youtube!
- Plant a garden. Planting milkweed and asters beautify your space and attract visits from butterflies. Tops of pineapples and bottoms of celery can be sprouted to grow new vegetables. Food scraps can be composted to feed your garden as well.
