Could Dunedin Bar Sale Affect New Largo Location?
It's been reported that Frenchy's is purchasing the Island Outpost in Dunedin; the owner recently opened the Island Breeze restaurant on Clearwater Largo Road.

As if the story of one area institution purchasing another isn't interesting enough, this one has a twist that could affect a new business in Largo.
Frenchy's, the Clearwater Beach landmark that has morphed into a mini-empire with no fewer than six entities in the area, is reportedly poised to purchase popular Dunedin beach bar the Island Outpost.
A spokesperson for Frenchy's told Dunedin Patch that the deal may go through as early as next week.
A post on the Island Outpost Facebook page, which has since been removed, seemed to confirm the news; the post read, in part:
"The ISLAND OUTPOST business and building have been sold to another great and local business...FRENCHYS...The transition will take place very soon. We wish Frenchys the best of luck and great success."
So how does this news affect Largo?
Island Outpost owner Paul Kalli recently opened the Island Breeze Restaurant and Bar on Clearwater Largo Road in the old home of Pastino's Pizzeria.
When contacted about how the potential sale of its parent restaurant could affect the new establishment, an employee said she was not permitted to speak on the matter and deferred comment to Kalli.
However the employee, who wished to remain nameless, did say that Frenchy's is not purchasing the Island Breeze and she believed the new place will remain open.
Patch is currently waiting to hear back from Kalli regarding the sale of Island Outpost and how it will affect the Largo location, if at all.
Stay tuned to Patch for more details on this developing situation.
