'Cruisin' The Park' Car Show Saturday at Ulmer Park

The Rotary Club of Largo is hosting its inaugural car show this weekend, with proceeds to benefit their special needs camp.

The Rotary Club of Largo is hosting a car show at Ulmer Park this Saturday.

The 'Cruisin' The Park' show will take place at the West Bay Drive park from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., with proceeds going to the Rotary Club's Camp Florida, a camp for special needs kids.

Largo Rotary president Eric Coyner said he is excited to have the club's inagural car show take place at the quaint downtown park.

"We're working closely with the Downtown Largo Merchants Association in helping to revitalize the area and bring more attention to downtown," Coyner told Patch by phone.

"It's something we've been looking to do for a long time, and we're really looking forward to it."

Judges will be awarding 85 trophies in a variety of categories, and there will be food, drink and activities for the kids.

Pre-registration for the event is closed, but Coyner said people can enter their vehicles on the day of the show for a cost of $20. There will also be vehicles from sponsors Walker Ford and DuPont Publishing on hand as well.

Coyner said he expects upwards of 100 cars to participate in the show.

"We're hoping to have a great day out there," he said.
