Driver Accused Of DUI Manslaughter Following Fatal Crash In Largo
A driver has been charged with driving under the influence manslaughter following a fatal crash on South Missouri Avenue Saturday night.
LARGO, FL — A driver has been charged with driving under the influence manslaughter following a fatal crash on South Missouri Avenue Saturday night.
According to Largo Police, at 10:40 p.m. a Can-Am four-wheeled all-terrain vehicle and a Jeep Cherokee were heading north on South Missouri Avenue.
Witnesses said the Jeep was traveling at a high speed and changed lanes, striking the Can-Am near the intersection of Bayview Drive. The rider of the Can-Am was thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene. The driver of the Jeep fled the area.

Officers later found the Jeep and the registered owner, Alexa Elisabella Nix, who was identified by witnesses as the driver. Nix was found at fault for the crash and arrested for DUI manslaughter, leaving the scene of a crash involving a death and obstruction by a disguised person.
The identity of the Can-Am driver has not been released.
