Greater Pinellas Country Fair 2016: What To Know Before You Go

PINELLAS PARK, FL – It’s time once again for horticulture and horses, motorcycles and music to show off in Pinellas County.

The Greater Pinellas Country Fair returns for its third year on Thursday, Nov. 10. The only fair in Pinellas County chartered by the Florida Department of Agriculture, the Greater Pinellas Country Fair has added new features and improved others.

“We have worked diligently since last year’s fair, overseeing additional upgrades to the fairgrounds, exploring new and exciting entertainment options and scheduling all of the fairgoers will enjoy at third annual Greater Pinellas Country Fair,” said Jean Rogalsky, president of the GPCF board of directors.

Here’s what area residents need to know before you go to the 2016 Greater Pinellas Country Fair:

Dates and Times

The 2016 Greater Pinellas Country Fair is scheduled to take place Thursday, Nov. 10 through Sunday, Nov. 13. The fair will be open from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Nov. 10 and Friday, Nov. 11; noon to 10 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 12; and 1 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 13.

Location

The fair will once again return to England Brothers Park, 5010 81st Ave. in Pinellas Park.

Tickets

Admission to the 2016 Greater Pinellas Country Fair is $5 per person. Children age 5 and younger and military personnel with valid ID are free. Parking is also free.

Urban Agriculture

Urban Agriculture events at the fair will highlight Pinellas County’s agricultural heritage and create new traditions. From home vegetable gardens to farmer’s markets, small-scale urban agriculture contributes up to 15 percent of the food supply within metropolitan areas, according to the Greater Pinellas Country Fair Association.

The 2016 Greater Pinellas Country Fair will showcase livestock from 4H clubs, schools and community clubs, including chickens, rabbits, honeybees, goats and horses. Crops on display will include container, organic, community, vertical and hydroponic gardens.

Blue ribbon competitions will also take place for art, baking, canning, woodworking, quilting and more.
