High Temps, Rays Ticket Deals and Summer Sunsets
A look at what's going on in and around Largo today.

Sweltering Temps Continue This Week
Largo residents hoping for a break from the heat aren’t likely to get it over the next few days.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service’s Ruskin office say the Tampa Bay area is in for some sweltering weather Tuesday, Aug. 13, with highs in the mid-90s. The heat index is expected to climb into the low 100s, which means a sauna might have nothing on the great outdoors as the week kicks off.

Rain chances are almost nonexistent at the start of the week, but meteorologist Robert Garcia says folks shouldn’t get too use to the sunshine.
“By the end of the week, (we’re) back in the wetter pattern,” he said. “It might be a little wetter than typical.”

SINKHOLE SWALLOWS FLA. VILLA
People across the nation were talking Monday about a sinkhole that swallowed a section of a Clermont resort villa. About 20 people were staying in the villa, located about 10 miles west of Disney World. Talk about a bad vacation!
That was just the latest case of a sinkhole opening up in Florida. In March, a sinkhole opened up beneath a Seffner home, swallowing a man as he slept in his bed, Brandon Patch reports. His body was never recovered.
