LARGO, FL — The City of Largo is closely monitoring Hurricane Dorian and wants to remind residents to have a plan in place.

Regardless of the strength and impact of Dorian, there is a likely chance of significant winds, heavy rain and possible flooding in the area.

Things residents should do:
- Register for special needs shelters by calling the Pinellas County CIC
- Prepare stay kit/go kit and gather important papers
- Ensure you have enough food and water for five to seven days.
- Know your evacuation zone
- Sign up now for pet shelters

- Please move trash and recycling containers inside a garage or secure location.
City Of Largo Facility Closures, Service Disruptions
- City of Largo facilities will be closed on Monday, Sept. 2 for Labor Day.
- City of Largo facilities including City Hall, recreation facilities and the Largo Public Library will be closed on Tuesday, Sept. 3 in anticipation of potential severe weather.
- There will be no solid waste, recycling or bulk collection on Monday, Sept. 2 or Tuesday, Sept. 3.
- The Largo City Commission meeting scheduled for Tuesday at 6 p.m. is canceled.
