Largo Farm Share Event To Give Away Produce
Largo Recycles is teaming up with Pinellas County commissioners to host a free produce and food distribution event on Friday, April 12.

LARGO, FL -- Largo Recycles is teaming up with Pinellas County commissioners and other community partners to host a free produce and food distribution event on Friday, April 12, in Largo.
The Farm Share event will begin at 9 a..m. in the parking lot of the Pinellas County Housing Authority, 11479 Ulmerton Road in Largo. The giveaway will feature drive-through and walk-up distribution of fruit, vegetables and other nutritious food.
There will also be an agency fair featuring county departments as well as other community organizations providing information to residents.

The event is scheduled to run until 11 a.m. or while supplies last.
The county’s involvement in the Farm Share program is part of a continuous effort to ensure public well-being by distributing healthy foods to residents most in need. Anyone in need of assistance with grocery necessities is welcome to attend.

The Board of County Commissioners is welcoming Farm Share to Pinellas County in partnership with several community organizations, including the Pinellas County Housing Authority, the city of Largo, the Largo Police Department, the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, the Florida Dream Center and Florida Blue.
Farm Share is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the distribution of nutritious foods to those in need. It serves as a link between farmers with surplus produce and social service agencies in Florida. Last year, Farm Share served more than six million Florida households and distributed 40 million pounds of food to needy families.
