Largo Man Charged in Assault at Largo Medical Center
John W. Selby was arrested and charged with two counts of felony battery following an incident at the hospital earlier this month.

A Largo man was arrested earlier this month and charged with two counts of felony battery after an incident at Largo Medical Center involving health care personnel and law enforcement officers.
According to the police report, John W. Selby, 53, assaulted two hospital employees while they were attending to a patient who had been admitted to the facility in the early morning hours of May 14.
Selby grabbed the wrist of one worker and shoved the other in the chest, authorities stated.

After Largo Police officers arrived, Selby is accused of kicking one officer in the shoulder after he was placed in custody.
He was arrested and charged with battery on a law enforcement officer and battery on health service personnel, both felonies.

Jail records show Selby was arrested and charged with DUI and battery on a law enforcement officer in April of this this year.
