Largo Police Give Out Hams Instead of Tickets

LARGO, FL — It's the scenario every driver dreads. They look in their rear view mirror and see a police cruiser with its light bar activated.

That's the scenario that greeted Largo drivers this month. But instead of getting a traffic ticket, they were presented with a redeemable gift certificate for a ham from Public Supermarket.

The police department received a donation of 48 vouchers for Public hams that they will be issuing to drivers up until Christmas.
