SPRING HILL, FL – Wanted: Women who love getting wet, can hold their breath for extended periods of time, have a head full of long, flowing locks and don’t mind squeezing their feet into a restrictive, iridescent mermaid’s tail.
If this is you, you’re in luck.
Weeki Wachee Springs State Park, 6131 Commercial Way in Spring Hill, is holding water auditions on Saturday, Jan. 13 at 4:30 p.m. for new cast members for its world-famous mermaid show.

Since 1947, the state park has entertained audiences with a bevy of beautiful mermaids performing in crystal-clear waters inside the park’s 400-seat submerged Mermaid Theater.
The park’s mermaids not only perform underwater swim routines but have been known to even eat and drink while underwater.

Currently, the park has a roster of 19 mermaids but is looking for additions to its school of mermaids.
