June 12, 2017 was the one-year remembrance of one of the most difficult days in Central Florida’s history - the anniversary of the 2016 Pulse Night Club tragedy in Orlando, Fla. This has now become a day to remember the victims and the heroes and an opportunity to transform this day of tragedy into a day of unity and service. UnitedHealthcare volunteers joined other Central Florida community organizations and companies as a show of unity to support Feeding Children Everywhere and honor those who were lost. On June 12, volunteers gathered to package 10,000 meals for each of the 49 victims — for a total of 490,000 meals — for the Pulse Memorial Hunger Project. These nutritious meals were to be distributed to their home countries, honoring their memories and bringing hope to others.
