Hurricane Irma Aftermath: Latest Orlando-Area Cellphone Outages

Overall, the FCC said 5.8 percent of cell sites in Florida were out of service Saturday, down from 8.5 percent Friday.

ORLANDO, FL — No Florida county has more than 50 percent of its cell sites out, federal officials said, and just three counties — all in southern Florida — had 20 percent or more of their cell sites out.

The Federal Communications Commission on Saturday updated its breakdown of cellphone outages by county in a status report on communications services.

Overall, the FCC said 5.8 percent of cell sites in Florida were out of service Saturday, down from 8.5 percent Friday and 13.4 percent a day earlier. Georgia and Alabama were completely restored Friday. Orange County

  • 36 cell sites were out, or 3.1 percent (down from 4.3 percent).

Osceola County

  • Eight cell sites were out, or 3.4 percent (down from 9.7 percent).

Lake County

  • 13 cell sites were out, or 6 percent (down from 7.3 percent).

Seminole County

  • Nine cell sites were out, or 2.9 percent (down from 5.1 percent).

Brevard County

  • 13 cell sites were out, or 4.1 percent (down from 7 percent).

Polk County

  • 24 cell sites were out, or 5 percent (down from 7.7 percent)
