1. Lake Nona’s Pixon building is up for an international design award, joining several other public art projects in Florida. Voting is now open for the People’s Choice award at the award website. (Orlando Sentinel)

2. A Kissimmee-based startup named Yac Media, Inc. has received some notable investors including big names like Slack. The majority of the investors are remote, including some in Florida, Texas, New York and California. Its app is similar to the Slack tool, but adds voice and transcription features. (Orlando Business Journal)

3. The suspect accused of shooting a Daytona police officer in the head was captured on Friday night. Othal Wallace was found with multiple weapons, ammunition, and body armor, according to Daytona Police. Anyone who helped hide the suspect could also be facing charges in the future. (WFTV)

4. Disney on Ice is coming to Orlando’s Amway Center in September. Tickets go on sale August 3rd at 10 a.m. Face coverings will be encouraged, but not required. (Orlando Weekly)

5. Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar will reopen its Pointe Orlando location on July 2nd after being closed for more than a year because of the pandemic. (Orlando Sentinel)
