Jennifer Kesse Disappearance Explored In New Podcast

The House of Broken Dreams looks at Kesse's 2006 disappearance in Orlando. Her parents in Bradenton are looking for new leads in the case.

ORLANDO, FL — The FOX News Investigates podcast debuted its second season, “House of Broken Dreams: The Jennifer Kesse Story,” which explores Kesse’s disappearance 14 years ago, on Nov. 12, according to a news release.

In 2006, Kesse, who was 24 at the time, went missing in Orlando on her way to work. All these years later, her parents, Drew and Joyce Kesse, who live in Bradenton, haven’t given up hope that they might one day learn what happened to their daughter.

By all accounts, Jennifer loved her life. She enjoyed her job as a finance manager, had just bought a condo in Orlando, was close to family and friends, and had just returned from a St. Croix vacation with her boyfriend.

That’s why it seemed out of the ordinary when she didn’t show up to work Jan. 24, 2006 without even a phone call. Her parents were called – they were friends with her boss – and they immediately drove to Orlando and declared her missing that day.

Two days later, her car was found abandoned in the parking lot of a nearby apartment complex. Video surveillance footage picked up the image of an unidentified person parking her car at the complex on the day she went missing.

Now, Jennifer’s parents have control of her case. They’ve butted heads with the Orlando Police Department over their handling of the case over the years, and in 2019, they settled with the department to receive her case file, FOX News reported.

As a result, there are some newly released images that indicate a violent struggle took place near her car, reports said. Investigators hope will yield new leads in the cold case.

Police remain active in her case as well. Last year, a dive team with cadaver dogs from the Orange County Sheriff’s office searched Fischer Lake in West Orange County to follow up on a tip received, Fox News reported. Nothing was found during this search, though.

The FOX News Investigates team traveled to Orlando, Florida to look into Jennifer’s disappearance, following new leads and conducting exclusive interviews with family, friends and witnesses. Lead by FOX News Channel investigative reporter and producer Cristina Corbin, there are 11 episodes in this series. A new one will be released every Thursday.
