DELAND, FL — New video shows the tense moment a terrified and visibly bruised and cut Florida woman slips a note to staff members at a veterinarian office in Deland with a terrifying message: Her boyfriend is armed and threatening her. On the evening of May 25, police officers were called to Deland Animal Hospital because a staff member said a customer was being threatened by her boyfriend, who had a gun.
Video posted on YouTube by BBC shows the shaken woman nervously walk up to the reception desk and hand a note to a staff member. She walks away as two staffers read the frightening message scrawled on the ripped piece of paper: "Call the cops. My boyfriend is threatening me. He has a gun. Please don't let him know."

Officers arrived at the business and took the woman's live-in boyfriend, Jeremy Floyd, into custody. He had a loaded handgun in his waistband, including "one in the chamber," according to court documents obtained by Patch. Video shows three officers enter the room and pull a gun from his waist band. He's then placed in handcuffs and led out of the room.

The victim, who was "covered in bruises and lacerations" and complained of head pain, said the incident actually began at her Deland home, court documents allege. She was "visibly upset and crying" and had trouble recounting what happened.
Two days earlier, the two were involved in a physical fight at the home after Floyd accused her of flirting with other men. He told her to go to the bedroom because he was "going to call all of his black friends to come over and have sex with her," documents allege.

The victim pretended to follow his request, but then jumped out of a window. Floyd caught her as she was running away, grabbed her by the hair and dragged her back into the home, authorities said. He then repeatedly struck her in the face with an open hand, grabbed her handgun and threatened to kill her in the kitchen. A struggle ensued as she tried to take the gun away from him and it went off.
The victim said she slept for nearly an entire day after the altercation. When she awoke, she told Floyd the dog was behaving "oddly" and wanted to take the animal to a veterinarian by herself. He refused to let her go alone though, court documents allege, and even pointed the weapon at her as they drove to the hospital, threatening to kill her and her entire family. She managed to slip the note to a staffer by telling him she was going to the bathroom.
Floyd told investigators his girlfriend's injuries must've come from when she dove out a window. He acknowledged carrying her back in to the house as she yelled, but denied beating her.
Deputies took the woman to Florida Hospital DeLand where she was treated for her injuries, including a head injury, a black eye and bruised arms.
Authorities later took her home and found two bullet holes in a hallway, which passed through drywall and into another room.
Floyd was charged with domestic violence, aggravated assault with a firearm, false imprisonment, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of ammunition by a convicted felon and simple battery.
