SANFORD, FL — President Donald Trump rallied Florida voters at the Orlando Sanford International Airport in Sanford Monday evening. Florida is a tossup state Trump needs to win, with Democrat Joe Biden holding a 48 percent to 44 percent lead over the president in an average of recent polls.

"It's great to be back in my home state of Florida to make my official return to the campaign trail," Trump said during his hour-long address. "I am so energized by your prayers and humbled by your support. We’ve had such incredible support and here we are."

This was the president's second campaign rally since his COVID-19 diagnosis and hospital stay. On Saturday, he spoke to supporters from the White House balcony.

On Monday the president took several shots at Biden during the speech, comparing the former vice president to North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin. All three are "100 percent sharp," Trump said, unlike Biden. "He's not 100 percent. He's not 80 percent. He's not 60 percent. We can't have this. As a country, we can't have this."

He also referenced his bout with COVID-19.

"I went through it. Now they say I'm immune. I feel so powerful," he said. "I'll walk into that audience. I'll walk in there. I'll kiss everyone in that audience. I'll kiss the guys and the beautiful women. Everybody. I'll just give you a big fat kiss."

During his time at Walter Reed Medical Center last week the president received the steroid dexamethasone after his blood oxygen level dropped. Doctors also said Trump was given two experimental drugs — a single dose of a drug that Regeneron Pharmaceuticals Inc. is testing to supply antibodies to help his immune system fight the virus, and two doses of a five-day course of remdesivir, a Gilead Sciences drug currently used for moderately and severely ill patients.

Trump said in Florida, "We are going to take whatever the hell they gave me and we're gonna distribute it around to hospitals and everyone’s gonna have the same damn thing."

The president first announced that he and First Lady Melania Trump tested positive for COVID-19 Oct. 2. He then spent three days at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. He was discharged from the hospital and returned to the White House Oct. 5.

The Trump campaign has been actively targeting Florida voters. Two of Trump's children recently visited Tampa to campaign for their father.

Donald Trump Jr. spoke to a crowd from the parking lot of Stepp's Towing Company Thursday evening and helped launch the Fighters Against Socialism bus tour Sunday at the Tampa Convention Center.

Meanwhile, Ivanka Trump visited La Segunda Bakery and the Columbia Restaurant in Ybor City Sept. 17.

Vice President Mike Pence also made stops in Orlando and The Villages over the weekend.
