Seagrass Pottery is located steps from the beach in Indiatlantic, Florida. As owner Kristina Latraverse says, "the story of our little studio by the sea is a simple one, we wanted to create a community around clay." The pottery studio welcomes young, old, experts and beginners into its classes and studio. It is conveniently located on Indiatlantic's 5th Avenue, just over the Melbourne Causeway and directly off A1A.
Seagrass Pottery offers general clay classes as well as private classes for kids and families. In addition, there are many types of workshops like the popular Saturday morning "Wake & Make Workshop" which is 2 hours of learning and churning or the "Friday Night Date" workshop that features instruction and the creation of 2 pieces on one Friday per month.
Seagrass Pottery is named after the seagrass plant, which as Latraverse explains, "Seagrass provides nutrients and oxygen for life in the sea to thrive. We feel creating art is just as important and also encourages people to thrive."

To that end, Seagrass Pottery opened in November 2019, shortly before the pandemic but as Latraverse says, "It was a unique challenge, but we are truly grateful for the support of our community." Seagrass began to offer "Clay to Go" kits with no-contact pick up/drop off service along with free tutorials. This offered what Latraverse saw as a much needed creative reprieve from the pandemic. She also saw an increase in sales for their tiles and dinnerware as people had the time to browse for meaningful pieces from the comfort of their homes.
Like many businesses, the studio currently requires masks as social distancing is not possible inside. The studio features 9 pottery wheels and space for hand sculpting clay as well
