SpaceX Launch From Cape Canaveral Canceled For Thursday

The SpaceX launch of the Bangabandhu satellite was scrubbed for Thursday.

ORLANDO, FL — SpaceX's planned launch of the Bangabandhu Satellite-1 on Thursday was canceled and the next launch attempt will be on Friday. The backup launch window for sending Bangabandhu into space opens at 4:14 p.m. and closes at 6:21 p.m.

For the launch, SpaceX is using the Falcon 9 Block 5 rocket, the most advanced version of the Falcon 9 rocket. The satellite, Bangabandhu, was developed by Bangladesh and will be operated by the Bangladesh Communication Satellite Company Limited. Bangabandhu will provide communication services for Bangladesh and broadband connectivity to the country's rural areas. The satellite is expected to be in orbit for 15 years.

SpaceX says the satellite will go into geostationary transfer orbit about 33 minutes after launch.
