The Watermark at Vistawilla Opens Doors to Residents
New Assisted Living, Memory Care Community in Winter Springs Officially Welcomes Residents Home

The Watermark at Vistawilla, a sophisticated assisted living and memory care community located on E. State Road 434 in Winter Springs, has opened its doors to residents. The community, which broke ground in late 2016, will welcome residents over the next several weeks and will be home to up to 99 local seniors when fully occupied.
“Over the last several months we’ve gotten to know our residents and their families and we are so excited to welcome them home,” said Karyn Brinkley, executive director at The Watermark at Vistawilla. “At Watermark, we’re committed to creating extraordinary communities where people thrive and we are looking forward to introducing our residents to their incredible new lifestyle.”
The Watermark at Vistawilla has 87 apartments available for rent across many unique floor plans and sizes, with the first floor dedicated to memory care and the second and third to assisted living. On-site amenities include lush gardens and nature paths, café, game room, state-of-the-art movie theater, beauty salon and barbershop.

Unique to The Watermark at Vistawilla is Thrive Dining™, an innovative dining program that takes traditional meals such as beef stroganoff and chicken piccata and transforms them into handheld portions that can easily be eaten by individuals with physical or cognitive challenges, which can make it difficult to use utensils.
In addition, the community will offer unique, engaging fitness and educational programming through dozens of Watermark University classes.

The community will feature 21 memory care residences. And unlike traditional memory care models where care is divided between multiple associates, caregivers at The Watermark at Vistawilla – called Nayas – spend the entire day with residents and are more likely to notice positive responses to programs and routines, as well as any early signs of concern that might otherwise go unnoticed.
“Our community takes a unique people-first approach to senior living, where each program, outing and meal is designed with the resident in mind,” said Brinkley. “This starts by creating a community filled with an abundance of choices and unique ways to thrive.”
To provide the highest-level of care possible, the community has also partnered with a number of local organizations to provide services ranging from on-site physical therapy, medical care from visiting physicians, home healthcare, laboratory and pharmacy services, church services, pet therapy and monthly caregiver support groups.
“Many of our residents have called Winter Springs home for many years, and we’re excited to work with some familiar faces they may know,” said Brinkley. “This is just another way we’re creating an extraordinary community where people thrive.”
