Escambia County Schools And Offices Will Be Closed Tuesday Due To Winter Weather
The forecast is for rain today and tonight, with ice adversely affecting area road conditions throughout Tuesday.

Escambia County School Superintendent Dr. Timothy Smith has announced that schools and district offices will be closed on Tuesday, February 16, 2021, due to inclement winter weather arriving in the area. The Escambia County Emergency Operations Center (EOC) forecasts rain today and tonight, with ice adversely affecting area road conditions throughout Tuesday. In an abundance of caution, all schools, district offices, and afterschool activities including indoor and outdoor athletics, have been canceled for Tuesday, February 16, 2021.

Superintendent Smith said “We anticipate that normal operations will resume on Wednesday, February 17, 2021. This decision has been made with the safety and security of students and staff in mind.”
The district will continue to monitor weather updates and encourages the community to do the same. If necessary, updates will be provided through local media, School Messenger, and the district website.
