Michael Esmond, at 74, had a very successful year with his pool-and-spa business. Instead of simply enjoying the profits for himself and his family, he chose to give $4,600 to the utility company in his area to pay the utility bills of some 114 households about to have their utilities cut off because of nonpayment. He’d already given a sizeable amount last year to the utility company, but this year, with the pandemic and hurricanes, so many Floridians are suffering. He decided to give more—not wanting people – to the best of his ability – to face the Holidays in misery.

Misery is no stranger to Michael. Back in 1980, his family saw their utilities cut off while he was going through a rough time. He remembers it all too well. What an “Amazing” act of generosity.
