All 49 Orlando Shooting Victims' Names Released
The names of all 49 killed in Sunday's mass shooting at an Orlando nightclub have been released by local authorities.

Orlando, FL — Less than two days after a gunman turned an Orlando nightclub into the scene of the worst mass shooting in American history, local authorities have released the names of all 49 people slain.
Those killed, along with 53 people wounded, went to the Pulse Orlando Night Club & Ultra Bar to dance and have fun. The popular gay bar had a near-capacity crowd when Omar Mateen, 29, began firing on those gathered around 2 a.m. Sunday, killing many in his path before he was shot and killed by law enforcement.
Among the dead was Eddie Sotomayor Jr., 34, of Sarasota. He, along with all those affected by the tragedy, classified as an act of terror by President Barack Obama, are being honored at gatherings across the country and the world.

One such gathering took place Monday night at Sarasota’s Selby Five Points Park. About 1,500 people turned out of the candlelight vigil to remember the dead, pray for the wounded and show support for Orlando. Among the attendees at the event sponsored by the Harvey Milk Festival were Mayor Willie Shaw and the entire city commission.
