VIDEO: Tom Cruise's Son Reels In 301-Pound Fish In FL Tournament
Tom Cruise's son, Connor, who lives in Clearwater, caught a monster fish Friday during the 2022 Sarasota Slam fishing tournament.
SARASOTA, FL — Tom Cruise's son may not be making blockbuster films like his dad, but his fishing skills in the deep blue sea are getting people to take notice in a big way.
Connor Cruise, who lives in Clearwater, and his crew caught a 301-pound Warsaw grouper Friday, taking home the grand prize during the 2022 Sarasota Slam fishing tournament.

"Got it done yesterday [Friday] with the boys. 301# Warsaw on the hand crank," Connor Cruise posted to Instagram.

Following the giant fish's weigh in, video shows the younger Cruise high-fiving some of his team and cheering.

It wasn't immediately clear how much money Cruise and his crew won for the big catch. According to the tournament, prize payouts are 90 percent of entry fees, which were as much as $3,000 per boat.

Event organizers have previously said that more than 500 anglers typically compete in the tournament and reel in over $500,000 in cash prizes annually.
For more than two decades, Sarasota Slam has become one of southwest Florida’s most endeared fishing tournaments.

While Cruise's catch is impressive, Warsaw groupers can actually get much larger than what he recently hooked.
According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation, they can grow up to nearly 8 feet and weigh almost 600 pounds.
