SARASOTA, FL — Coronavirus cases continue to drop across the country while the number of those who are fully vaccinated continues to rise, which means there is even more reason to celebrate this Independence Day. July 4 is almost here, so it's time to find out what Fourth of July fireworks and festivities are going on near you.

What: Celebrate Sarasota July 4 Parade and Bayfront Fireworks
Where: Sarasota’s Bayfront

When: July 4, 8 p.m.
A parade paying tribute to veterans and first responders will start at U.S. 41 and Orange Avenue and end at U.S. 41 and J.D. Hamel Park.
Designated areas for public viewing will be marked along the parade route.
Following the parade, Bayfront fireworks, organized by Suncoast Charities for Children and Marina Jack’s, will close out the evening around 9 p.m.
What: Siesta Key Community Fireworks
Where: Siesta Public Beach, 948 Beach Road, Siesta Key
When: July 4, 6 to 9:30 p.m.
The Siesta Key Chamber of Commerce presents its 30th annual Fourth of July fireworks on Siesta Beach. The viewing area opens at 6 p.m. and fireworks begin at dusk.
Sponsorships for this community event are available. A sponsorship of $500 or more includes seating in a preferred viewing area, park and free beverages and snacks.
This event is a partnership with Sarasota County.
What: Fourth of July Fireworks Show
Where: Humphris Park, 2000 Tarpon Center Drive, Venice
When: July 4, 9 to 9:30 p.m.
Fireworks will be shot off from the South Jetty at Humphris Park.
The South Jetty and Jetty Jacks Refreshment Deck will be closed to the public for safety July 3-4, but the fireworks display can be viewed on area beaches from Caspersen to Nokomis, as well as from other locations around Venice.
Those viewing fireworks should arrive early to secure their spot on the beach. Social distancing between groups is encouraged.
Those viewing the fireworks from boats should anchor by 8:30 p.m. The Venice Inlet will close to boat traffic around 8:45 p.m. until 45 minutes after the display’s grand finale.
What: Boom By The Bay
When: 5 p.m.
The event begins at 5 p.m. on July 4 with a boat parade and Blessing of the Fleet, which is presented by Friends of the Tampa Riverwalk. The parade will take a similar route as the holiday light boat parade but will have three blessing stations.
The parade will begin in the Tampa Convention Center basin, travel to the Heights and end at Sparkman Wharf. Public viewing locations include the Armature Works, Channelside Drive, the Tampa Convention Center, Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park, Davis Islands, Harbour Island, Sparkman Wharf and Water Works Park.
Following the boat parade, Boom by the Bay programming will begin at 7 p.m. with family-friendly activities spanning six waterfront locations, including two new locations. Each site will feature activities for all ages, food vendors, entertainment, and fireworks, which will be choreographed together and launched simultaneously at dusk (approximately 9:15 p.m.).
The six locations this year include: Julian B. Lane Riverfront Park, presented by the Hard Rock; Armature Works; Tampa Convention Center; Sparkman Wharf; Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park, presented by Tampa Downtown Partnership; and Bayshore Boulevard, presented by Coca-Cola Beverages Florida.
The event is free and open to the public. Event goers are reminded to follow COVID-19 safety guidelines and take advantage of sanitation stations at each location.
What: The Inaugural “The Fourth”, Independence Day Celebration at St. Pete Pier
Where: St. Pete Pier, 800 Second Ave. NE., St. Petersburg
When: July 2-July 4 (check link above for all times)
This 3-day event is filled with fun activities for all, including the inaugural St. Pete Pier Run, Silent Disco, Gulp Coast Craft Beer Garden, food trucks & vendors, pie eating contest, live music on the Visit St. Pete Clearwater Main Stage, karaoke, Independence Day Movie, roaming entertainers, and so much more.
The traditional Fourth of July fireworks show sponsored by the city of St. Pete is scheduled for Sunday, July 4, at 9 p.m., and will be visible from the entire downtown waterfront, including Bayshore Drive, Straub Parks, Vinoy Park, and others.
Due to the pandemic, counties or cities may adjust or cancel events at the last minute, so double-check with organizers.
