Calling all junior and teen golfers

University Park Country Club offers summer golf camps for kids ages six to 18

School’s out and wondering what to do with the junior golfer in your life? To give kids and parents some respite from each other and help teach and share the lifelong skills and sport of golf, University Park Country Club is offering a series of junior and teen golf camps for kids ages six to 18 this summer.

Participant golfers will benefit from having former South African Open Champion and Head Teaching Professional Clinton Whitelaw share his skill, knowledge and acumen. The camps are open to members and non-members.

Summer Junior Golf Camp (Ages 6-12)

Open to junior golfers ages six to 12, camp includes quality golf instruction, games and daily prizes in a friendly, group atmosphere. All aspects of the golf game will be covered, including full swing, putting, chipping, safety, rules and etiquette. Campers will receive healthy snacks, drinks, daily prizes and lunch. Clubs are provided if needed.

Dates (Monday-Wednesday & Friday):

July 9-11 & 13

Times:

9:00-11:00 a.m.

Cost:

$149/4-day session, per child

Registration:

Advance registration required and space is limited. Register in person at the Pro Shop or call 941-359-9999.

Summer Youth/Teenage Golf Camp (Ages 13-18)

Open to teen golfers ages 13-18, these camps teach the fundamentals of stance, alignment, ball position, posture and swings, scoring shots and putting. Participants receive analyses and solutions for various shot selection situations, helping young golfers improve their game and have more fun on the course. Camp includes an open forum Q&A, lunch voucher, rules book, 18 holes of golf and prizes.

Dates (Monday-Wednesday for each session):

June 25-27

July 23-25

Times:

Monday 8:45-11:15 a.m.

Tuesday 9:00-11:30 a.m.

Wednesday 9:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

Cost:

$199/3-day session, per student
