Calling all Teen Golfers

Golfing teens looking to hone their skills before heading back to school can get their game on at University Park Country Club, which is hosting a new Summer Teen Golf Camp, August 1-3, 2017.

The three-day camp is open to junior golfers ages 13-18 and provides an opportunity for aspiring and experienced teen golfers to improve and gain added appreciation and enjoyment of the game. An added bonus is having former South African Open Champion and Assistant Golf Pro Clinton Whitelaw as the head instructor, who will share his skill, knowledge and acumen.

Over the three days, all aspects of the golf game will be covered, including reviewing the fundamentals of the golf swing and the different characteristics required when playing with wedges, irons and woods. Additional skills covered include:

· Rules, etiquette and respect for the game

· Short game techniques

· Fitness instruction, how to warm up and down correctly with fitness instructor Sue Marillier

· Fundamentals of stance, alignment

· Ball position, posture and grip

· Pitching technique

· Scoring shots

· Learning good practice habits

· Video analysis

· Daily Forum Q&A

· Participants will also receive a lunch voucher to The Park Grille & Café (Thursday session), rules book, 18 holes of golf, and prizes throughout the camp.

Times:

Tuesday, August 1 – 8:45 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.

Wednesday, August 2 – 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Thursday, August 3 – 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (Includes lunch and 18 holes of golf)

$199/per student
