County Commissioners Share Christmas Wishes

Sarasota County commissioners shared their holiday wishes for the coming year.

Chair Nora Patterson: “I wish for at least a 2% drop in our Sarasota unemployment rate from our current reported low of 10% this month (which if real is already an improvement).  I wish for a good and more prosperous New Year for the State of Florida and particularly the West Coast of Florida, which has suffered a prolonged and serious blow.”

Incoming Chair Christine Robinson: “My Christmas wish for Sarasota County is for more jobs and economic prosperity. “

Commissioner Joe Barbetta:   " I wish much happiness and good health to all our residents and visitors, and great success to all our businesses and non-profits for the coming year.  Also, a special thanks to all of the wonderful volunteers and volunteer organizations that make this Community great.  Let us hope that 2012 brings a strong and vibrant economy for all of Sarasota County and the surrounding region."

Commissioner Jon Thaxton: "On the day we celebrate the birth of the Prince of Peace, I wish for Peace."
