Deputies Searching For Armed Robbery Suspect

Sheriff's investigators are asking the public and witnesses to help identify an armed robber at a Bank of America ATM Saturday evening.

At 6:11 p.m., a woman was approached by an armed suspect at the Bank Of America, 8111 S. Beneva Road, when the man demanded that she withdraw money and then fled on foot toward the Westfield Sarasota Square Mall, according to the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office. The victim was unharmed.

The suspect is described to be a white male, approximately 20 years old, light hair, light complexion, about 5 feet, 8 inches tall wearing a black hoodie and armed with a possible steak knife, according to the sheriff's office.
