Downtown Gas Leak Closes Roads, Crews Working In Area: Police
Police say drivers should avoid the area of 1st Street, and Palm and Cocoanut Avenues Wednesday morning.
SARASOTA, FL — A gas leak has closed several roads in downtown Sarasota Wednesday morning.
Around 9:30 a.m., Sarasota police tweeted that drivers should avoid the areas of 1st Street, and Palm and Cocoanut Avenues. Delays are expected in the area for up to 90 minutes, they said.
Sarasota County Emergency Services and TECO Gas crews are working in the area to cap the leak.
