Easter Sunday State-Run Second-Dose Vaccination Clinic Set

VENICE, FL — The state will return to the Venice Municipal Airport Festival Grounds at 610 Airport Ave. E in Venice on Easter Sunday for a second-dose vaccination clinic, Sarasota County said in a news release.

This state-operated drive-thru clinic will provide the Moderna booster shot to those who received their first dose from the state in Venice on March 7. Appointment notifications for Sunday’s clinic will be sent out Wednesday, the county said.

The Department of Health in Sarasota County won’t host first-dose or second-dose clinics on Sunday because of the holiday.

The second shot of the Moderna vaccine should be scheduled 28 days after the first. For those who received the vaccine March 6 or 7, that would fall on or near Easter Sunday, which is April 4, the county said.

Individuals who received the first dose of the Moderna coronavirus vaccine March 6 or 7 through the DOH-Sarasota will receive a second dose-appointment notice after Sunday.
