Elections 2020: Republicans Sweep County Commission Races
Moran, Detert and Cutsinger won all three Sarasota County Commission seats on Election Night.
SARASOTA, FL — Republicans swept the three Sarasota County Commission races in the 2020 elections. Michael A. Moran, Nancy Detert and Ron Cutsinger each won their districts, based on unofficial results.
In District 1, Moran, running as an incumbent, led Democrat Mark E. Pienkos with 29,505 votes. His opponent received 23,285 votes.
Detert, also an incumbent, won defeated Democrat Cory Hutchinson to retain her District 3 seat. She received 37,291 votes, while her opponent received 21,823.

Meanwhile, Cutsinger defeated Democrat Alice White to take home the District 5 seat. He received 27,868 votes, while she received 17,701.
