Exhibit of Monumental Sculpture Debuts in Naples

A First for Florida – Origami in the Garden

For the first time in Florida, Origami in the Garden, the monumental outdoor sculpture exhibition created by American artists Kevin and Jennifer Box, is displayed in multiple locations in Naples from December 3, 2016 through April 23, 2017. In a unique collaboration, Naples Botanical Garden, The Baker Museum on the Artis-Naples campus, and Lowdermilk Park on the Gulf of Mexico are exhibiting various pieces of the playful, large-scale works of the internationally renowned sculptors and origami creators.

The distinctive creations, from giant paper cranes to a life-size Pegasus, take the art of single-paper folding to a new level. Sculptor Kevin Box pioneered an innovative method of capturing origami’s delicate detail and rendering it with museum-quality metals into large-scale works of art. Each sculpture in the Origami in the Garden collection began with a single piece of paper.

Over 50 pieces of sculpture will be displayed between the three locations. Of those, 30 will be outdoors, primarily in the Naples Botanical Garden.
