Girl Scouts to Offer Free Summer Events
Themed events open to girls entering grades K-1

Sarasota County, FL – Girl Scouts of Gulfcoast Florida is offering free summer programs for girls entering grades K-1, to introduce them to the fun and friendship they’ll experience as part of the Girl Scout program.
The events will offer a sampling of the nationally recognized Girl Scout Leadership Experience curriculum, with activities designed for Girl Scout Daisies (girls in K-1st grade).
“Daisies Can Do Anything” will introduce girls to various occupations, with career-based hands-on stations, take-home activities, and more. Girls will receive a snack and a special Girl Scout patch. Dates, times, and locations include:

- June 2, 3:00 p.m. at Parkside Assisted Living, 2595 Harbor Boulevard in Port Charlotte (third floor activity room);
- June 16, 3:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 507 W. Marion Avenue in Punta Gorda;
- June 24, 3:00 p.m. at Sky Academy, 881 S. River Road in Englewood.
“Fly into Nature” will encourage girls to explore the outdoors, featuring a nature scavenger hunt, games, and other nature-based activities. Girls will receive a special Girl Scout patch. Dates, times, and locations for this rain-or-shine event include:
- June 3, 3:00 p.m. at the Venice Girl Scout House, 1775 E. Venice Avenue in Venice;
- June 30, 3:00 p.m. at the Bud and Wanda Korte Youth Scout House, 5845 Greenwood Avenue in North Port.
