JFCS adds new Director of Veterans Services
Jocene Henderson will oversee and work to expand supportive services to homeless and at-risk veterans in six counties

JFCS of the Suncoast recently appointed Jocene Henderson as director of veterans services, where she will oversee and work to expand supportive services to homeless and at-risk veterans in six counties.
A retired army sergeant major with more than 30 years’ military experience, Henderson spent the previous nine years in a variety of capacities for the Veterans Outreach Center in Rochester, N.Y. including serving as director for Operation Welcome Home & Recovery, Organizational Assessment and Community Services and Operations. In addition to her Outreach Center and military work, Henderson also co-authored “Coming Home to Caring Communities: A Blueprint for Serving Veterans & Families,” published in February 2012.
“Jocey’s knowledge of military culture, organization and the effects of military service on veterans and families made her an ideal choice for JFCS’ director of veterans services position,” said Heidi Brown, President/CEO of JFCS of the Suncoast. “In addition, her excellent communication and facilitation skills as well as her ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships allow us to meet the needs of both internal and external stakeholders.”
