Sarasota and Manatee County golfers took the lead in the Big Summer Golf Card’s® Big Money Tour℠ drawing for August, including Lakewood Ranch’s Robert Bourlier who won the $1,000 Grand Prize.

In total, the Big Summer Golf Card (BSGC) distributed $5,000 in cash and prizes to 10 Sarasota, Manatee and Charlotte County resident golfers, each of whom golfed a minimum of five rounds at one or more of the 23 Big Money Tour participating courses.

At a special awards event held at the Tatum Ridge Golf Links in Sarasota, General Manager Eddie Rodriguez joined BSGC managing partner Charles Varah to present the following awards*:

2nd Prize $500, Ronald Purdie, Osprey

3rd Prize $500, Lawrence Jackel, Sarasota

4th Prize $250, William LeFrancois, Sarasota

5th Prize $250, Elmer Schrumpf, Bradenton

6th Prize Golf Certificates, Scott Greene, Rotonda West

7th Prize Golf Certificates, Tom Joseph, Sarasota

8th Prize Golf Certificates, Jacqueline Mullan, Venice

9th Prize Golf Equipment, David Mehtlan, Rotonda West

10th Prize Golf Equipment, Richard Napolitan, Sarasota

* Stuart Naismith of Manchester, UK, also joined the group to pick up his 5th place $250 cash award from May’s Big Money Tour drawing that took place in June.

About The Big Money Tour

To qualify for a monthly drawing, golfers must be a Big Summer Golf Card holder and play at least five rounds at one or more of the participating 23 courses. Players receive an additional entry into the drawing for each additional five rounds of golf played in a given month. Drawings are held on the 15th of every month for the preceding month and prizes awarded to the winners at a special presentation at one of the exclusive participating courses.

Every month between May and October, five golfers share in $2,500 of cash prizes, a Grand Prize of $1,000 plus two-$500 and two-$250 cash prizes. In addition, five golfers receive prizes ranging from golf certificates for complimentary rounds of golf at participating courses or golf equipment.

Offering preferred pricing on green fees at more than 55 courses along Florida’s Gulf Coast as well as south and central Florida, residents and visitors alike can reap the benefits that also include card holder specials, Big Money Tour eligibility for cash and equipment prizes at 23 courses, unlimited play at favorite area courses from May through October, exclusive play dates at member and private clubs, and special rate offers in November and December. A special fall season membership is currently being offered for $39, good through Dec. 31, 2015 with preferred pricing at more than 40 area golf courses as well as exclusive weekly play date at the Ritz-Carlton Club every Monday through November.
