A Love Letter From Mark Mulone To His Wife

This Sarasota man is excited to grow "white haired and wrinkled" with his college sweetheart.

To celebrate Valentine’s Day, we asked Patch readers to write a love letter to that special someone and let us deliver it. This is Mark Mulone’s love letter to his wife:

“I met my wife during our freshman year in college in 1982. She was one of the beauties in another dorm, way out of my league. A year went by before I got the courage to ask her out, once I learned that her current relationship with a tank of a football player was in turmoil.

She said yes, and as a poor college student I saved enough money to take her out to dinner. Our first date was magical and made me so happy. Three-and-a-half years later I asked for her hand in marriage, and she yes again. She blessed us by bringing two wonderful boys in to this world and played (solo) mother a lot while I traveled extensively over the years for my job.

A couple years back I had a serious scare with cancer that was easy to go through with the smiles and support of such a strong person. She makes my world complete and fulfilled as we celebrate our 30th
anniversary this May.

It’s hard to think about how my last 30 years would have been without the best friend of my life being a part of it. I'm so thankful to have found the love of my life at such a young age. I'm so looking forward to growing old, white haired, wrinkled and a bit slower in the future.

To my love and best friend, I love YOU for making me the happiest man in the world! Thank you.”
