MA Man Hit By Car, Killed While Crossing Clark Road Tuesday: FHP

SARASOTA, FL — A 59-year-old Massachusetts man was hit by a car and killed trying to cross Clark Road Tuesday night, the Florida Highway Patrol said in a news release.

The accident took place Tuesday around 9:45 p.m. when a car traveling west on Clark Road east of Gantt Road, not far from Waffle House, hit the pedestrian, who was trying to cross Clark Road from south to north, in the westbound lane, FHP said.

The car’s driver, a 62-year-old Sarasota man, was uninjured in the crash.

The accident remains under investigation, FHP said.
