Man Charged With Sexually, Physically Abusing Young Girls

The man made two girls perform "fashion shows" for him, beat them with a metal spatula and touched them inappropriately, according to the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office.

A Venice man was arrested July 10 for allegedly abusing two sisters physically and sexually for a number of years, beating them with his hands as well as a metal spatula and making them perform “fashion shows” for him, according to the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office. 

Kyle W. Mackey, 42, of the 2200 block of Park Road, is charged with lewd and lascivious molestation on a child 12-16, five counts of lewd and lascivious molestation of a child under 12, two counts child abuse without great bodily harm and use of a child in a sexual performance.

The victims, now teenagers, came forward last month and told sheriff's deputies that Mackey had touched them inappropriately on several different occasions from the time they were was 6 and 4 years old, a report states.  The abuse occurred when the victims were left in Mackey’s care, according to the report.

The victims said that during these visits they would sleep with Mackey in the same bed and he would fondle them inappropriately.  One of the girls said she slept between him and her sister so he wouldn’t touch the other girl, the report states.

The victims also told authorities that Mackay would make the sisters perform fashion shows where he would dress them up in women’s bras and underwear and tell them to model for him, the report states.

They also said Mackey would physically abuse them. One of the girls was allegedly beaten with a metal spatula after she made a mess in the kitchen. The other said Mackey punched her in the arm at age 14 after she asked him to stop fondling her, according to the report. 

Mackey remains at the Sarasota County Jail on $90,000 bond.
