Moderna Walk-Up Clinic Being Offered At Sarasota Square Mall
First and second doses of the vaccine are available daily and parents can bring their children ages 12 and up for Pfizer shots on Saturday.

SARASOTA, FLA. — Local residents who are interested in receiving either their first or second dose of the Moderna coronavirus vaccines are able to do so on a nearly daily basis at the Sarasota Square Mall, local health officials announced.
The Florida Department of Health-Sarasota is operating a combined first and second dose walk-up vaccination clinic at the mall, which is located at 8201 Tamiami Trail and shots will be administered starting at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, officials said. The clinic will be open until 4 p.m. on Wednesday and 6 p.m. on Thursday and Friday.
In addition, parents who would like to have their children vaccinated with the Pfizer vaccine will be able to do so at the mall from 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturday. The walk-up clinic is open to anyone and appointments are not required. Parents must have their identification will be required to sign a consent form for their child before they can receive a shot.

“It’s real important for the community to remember that children – and really anyone in the community – who is fully vaccinated are going to be able to return to normal activities that they were doing before the pandemic,” Department of Health spokesman Steve Huard said in a video. “So as children return to the school year next year, being fully vaccinated is going to be essential.”
Pfizer shots will also be available to residents age 18 and up and second doses of the vaccine is available to anyone who had their first shot before May 1. Moderna shots will also be available at the site and anyone who has passed the 28-day mark since receiving their first shot will be able to receive their second shot.

As of Tuesday, more than 438,000 doses of the vaccines have been administered in Sarasota County where 60.59 percent of residents (249,713) have received at least one dose of the vaccines.
