Police Chief DiPino To Speak At District 1 Forum

Vice Mayor Willie Shaw will also discuss the development of the Marian Anderson Place brownfield site.

District 1 City Commissioner Willie Shaw will host a community forum Tuesday, Jan. 8, at the 1845 34th Street.  Updates will be provided on initiatives occurring within District 1 with an opportunity for questions. Residents, business owners and District 1 stakeholders are encouraged to attend.

Vice Mayor Shaw and City Manager Tom Barwin will introduce the new Chief of Police Bernadette DiPino.  The Vice Mayor also will discuss the top two priorities for District 1 in 2013:  clean up and development of the Marian Anderson Place brownfield site and creation of a small business incubator.

Vice Mayor Shaw has served as the District 1 City Commissioner since May 2011. 

The boundaries of District 1 roughly are University Parkway to the north; Fruitville Road to the south; N. Tamiami Trail to the west and Tuttle Avenue to the east.
