Sarasota County Seeks Children’s Input For Playground Ideas
The county is inviting children to event this weekend to gather ideas.

Sarasota County Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources is inviting children age 6 and older – and their parents and guardians – to a community workshop on Saturday, June 25 at Woodmere Park, 3961 Woodmere Park Blvd. in Venice. The attendees are welcome to share their thoughts about what amenities a “fun” playground might include.
The purpose of the workshop is to gather input and ideas for the new playground and concept plan at the 10-acre Tuscano park site located at U.S. Highway 41 and Taylor Ranch Road.
“We want to know what the kids want,” said Parks, Recreation and Natural Resource Director Carolyn Brown. “After all, they are the ones who will be using the playground so they should have a say in what goes into it.”
The workshop will include fun and engaging activities with opportunities for children to be creative and share their ideas. Activities will include a brief presentation, playground-related arts and crafts and identifying possible themes. Participants will receive a certificate, takeaways and a snack.
