SCAT Offering Free Rides on April 26
Free bus service a part of Sarasota County's Try Transit Day.
SARASOTA, FL – Sarasota County is picking up the tab for all riders on Sarasota County Area Transit buses on April 26.
Last week, the Sarasota County Commission proclaimed April 26 to be Try Transit Day. The vent is a collaboration with Manatee County Area Transit, which is also offering free rides the same day.
Also participating is the Florida Department of Transportation District One, which promotes the use of alternative commute methods to reduce traffic congestion and lower greenhouse gas emissions through its Commuter Services program.
Free rides will be available on April 26 on all fixed routes including SCAT Express. For complete schedules and route maps, visit www.scgov.net/SCAT.
