The third 10-week Ton of Fun weight loss campaign session got underway last week with 25 more individuals joining the 100+ participants who have discovered healthier and fitter ways to live their lives. A partnership between Fleet Feet Sports Sarasota and UnitedHealthcare (UHC), “Ton of Fun” is a community-wide initiative to help Sarasota residents lose a ton of weight (2,000) pounds in 2015-16.

To kick off the fall program and get participants on a healthy eating track, UHC’s Regional Director of Health Strategies, Suzanne Perkins, engaged the group in a special “Lose & Win: Your Healthy Eating Roadmap” session. Focusing on the components of healthy eating for weight loss, participants received copies of UHC’s Lose and Win Guide covering topics on how to get started, keys to success, keeping a food and activity journal and resources and apps for participants to assist them in reaching their goals.
