Offering added support to the 2015 Ton of Fun Weight Loss Challenge in partnership with Fleet Feet Sports Sarasota, UnitedHealthcare recently provided biometric screenings, valued at more than $1,250, to participants. The comprehensive screenings included blood pressure, height, weight, BMI, total cholesterol as well as HDL and LDL, triglycerides and glucose.
One of three screenings being offered to the Ton of Fun members at the beginning, middle and end of the initial 12-week kick-off session, participants will be able to see their progress both on the scale as well as with key biometric indicators. The indicators provide valuable information about potential risk for heart disease, stroke and a variety of other life threatening ailments. Participants also receive tips on how to improve overall indicators to help get them into healthy and optimal ranges.

The Ton of Fun Challenge aims to help Sarasota, Fla. residents lead a healthier lifestyle, one day, one step, one recipe at a time and keep Sarasota on the Florida Department of Health’s “Healthy Weight Community Champion” list.
