Vaccine Clinic To Close Permanently At Sarasota Square Mall
The COVID-19 vaccine clinic operated by the Department of Health in Sarasota County at Sarasota Square Mall will shut down for good June 24.
SARASOTA COUNTY, FL — The COVID-19 vaccine clinic operated by the Department of Health in Sarasota County at Sarasota Square Mall will close permanently by the end of the month, the DOH said in a news release.
“The vaccination clinic at Sarasota Square Mall has been a great success for our community, said Chuck Henry, DOH-Sarasota health office, said.” “However, now that COVID-19 vaccine readily available throughout Sarasota County it’s time that we close this clinic as our community continues to reopen.”
The DOH will distribute first- and second- doses of the Moderna vaccine at the mall through June 24. The clinic will be open Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturdays, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Tuesday and Thursday, 8:30 to 6 p.m.

Everyone receiving a vaccine will receive a $10 grocery store coupon, the DOH said.

Since opening the Sarasota Square Mall clinic Jan. 28, the DOH Sarasota has distributed more than 150,000 doses of the Moderna vaccine there.
Starting June 25, DOH Sarasota will offer the Moderna vaccine at its immunization clinics in Sarasota (2200 Ringling Blvd.) and North Port (6950 Outreach Way). The vaccine will be available Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. No appointment is required.
Everyone receiving a vaccine must present a valid ID, a signed consent form and be ready for the 15-minute wait after receiving their vaccine. Individuals walking up for their first dose are asked to return to the same location 28 days later to receive their second dose, as they will not receive a second-dose appointment reminder.
