Westcoast Black Theatre Troup to Host Summer Camp
'Stage of Discovery' will take place in July and August

SARASOTA, FL – Young actors, dancers and singers will have a new opportunity this year to keep their crafts honed during the summer.
Teenagers from 13 to 18 will have a chance to join the Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe during “Stage of Discovery,” a theater-intensive summer musical program from July 20 to August 15. In this pilot program, participants will be under the direction of WBTT artistic director and founder Nate Jacobs and joined by professional creative coaches.
The multi-week summer session will finish with a public performance of an original musical.
“Stage of Discovery” will take place at the Westcoast Black Theatre, 1646 10th Way in Sarasota, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily. This year’s pilot program, thanks to underwriting by the Robert E. Dods Family Foundation, will be free with a lunch provided to participants. Aftercare is available for $50 per week per child.
A mandatory audition is scheduled for Saturday, June 11 from 1 to 5 p.m.
