Woman Robs Man At Gunpoint, Forces Herself Into Car

Woman had first asked man for a ride, then pulled out a gun and demanded to be driven to an ATM.

Sarasota Police are looking for a woman who pulled a gun on a man Monday, demanding him to withdraw money at an ATM.

The 70-year-old victim reported the armed robbery at 9 p.m. Monday saying he just exited the Barnes and Noble, 4010 S. Tamiami Trail, when a white female approached him asking for a ride. The woman is described as 5 feet 6 inches tall, thin, with long, dark hair that was slicked back into a bun/pony tail.

When the man refused, the woman pulled a handgun from her large straw purse and demanded to be taken to an ATM, according to police. The woman got into the car, and demanded that the man drive to a bank with an ATM, according to police.

After failed attempts to use the ATM at the Sun Trust Bank, 3400 S. Tamiami Trail, the suspect took cash from the victim’s wallet, got out of the car and walked northbound through the parking lot, according to police.
